After 35 years in the lawn care business, we have gotten pretty good at taking care of lawns! Not trying to toot our own horn over here, but at Erbert Lawns we love what we do and take pride in our work. We are passionate about the quality products we use and we really do think they are the best for what we do.

Moving forward, today we are going to talk about our bread and butter, our Weed Wipe Out & Fertilization program. This program includes a combination of weed control and fertilizer and ensures a weed free green lawn to every customer. Granted our customers have to know that there is only so much we can do, maintaining a regular watering schedule will help a lot! Also, if we start treating a lawn that is in rough shape it is going to take multiple applications to get it looking good and healthy. We are not miracle workers, but we always do our very best to care for each lawn and its individual needs.

The grass on your lawn is a living and breathing life form. We, as humans, often distance ourselves from this fact and fail to give our lawns the nutrition it needs to thrive and look its best. Plants over all are quite resilient and will always try to survive even without proper nutrition, but giving them food (fertilizer) helps them reach their full potential.

Along with the grass, the weeds that find their way into your lawn are also alive. When the lawn gets fed, they get fed. In order to maintain those pesky weeds, we include a weed control while we fertilize. The product we use is called Speedzone, and while its bad news for weeds it is completely harmless to grass.

Since we are a local Colorado company, we use a fertilizer that works best for Colorado soil. It is a mineral based blend composed of phosphate, nitrogen, and potassium. The fertilizer is a granular pearl shape which works as a time release so the nutrients can continually feed your lawn.

With this program our Lawn Scientists will come out 7 times between March and November, feeding and weeding your lawn roughly every four to five weeks. “Why do you have to come out 7 times? Isn’t that a bit excessive?” is a common question we get from people who are hesitant to sign up for the full program. We want to guarantee you that we can make your lawn the greenest and healthiest on the block and we can only do that if our technicians are out there on a monthly basis to keep an eye on the lawn.

With the full program, our customers will not only get all 7 applications, but they will also get free service calls in the event of aggressive weeds that need sprayed in between treatments as well as free diagnostics if there are concerns of lawn disease (necrotic ring, leaf blight, etc).

We understand that the commitment to the program might be a little overwhelming at first, but once you start using the program you will see the benefits! If you are going to invest money into your lawn’s health, you really should go full swing. We cannot guarantee the best looking lawn with a partial program, which in a sense is just throwing dollars down the drain for you and makes us look bad because we cannot give you the best service.

I hope this has helped you understand why we do things the way we do around here. If you are interested in this program, give Erbert Lawns a call today!
